A visit to Aster CMI Hospital was arranged for fourth-year students of MBBS (MSU).
The trip started with an introduction to the hospital by the Medical Director. He spoke in detail about the specialties, treatment options and facilities available at Aster CMI
This was followed by a talk by a well-known neurosurgeon of the country. Students learnt about the progress made in the field of neurosurgery over the decades. Through the talk, students also understood the value of research and development in the field of medicine, and learnt more about the on-going research that would dictate the future of the field. They also had the opportunity to ask questions and improve their understanding of the field
The students were then taken to the various departments such as the Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Unit, Chemotherapy Ward, Radiology Department, Physiotherapy Room, ICU, Dialysis Centre, Pathology Lab, CATH Lab, Operation Theatres, Emergency Services, etc.
Students also got the unique opportunity to watch a live operation on Transphenoidal Adenoidectomy using the latest 3D machine to visualise and aid the process.
